EPL PREVIEWS

LEICESTER V MAN U

It’s a big game for…
Wayne Rooney: The striker was often bypassed once again as United failed to break down a resilient PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. In his role as United’s captain, it is imperative that he galvanises his team as they take on a Leicester side that are currently flying high.

Weird stat…
1: Leicester had only mustered one goal in the eight Premier League fixtures between the two sides before the Foxes recorded a remarkable 5-3 victory last season.

Remember when…
David Beckham scored a sumptuous late free kick to salvage a point for United in a 2-2 draw against Leicester in 1998. Emile Heskey and Tony Cottee had put the Foxes in control, but United replied with goals from Teddy Sheringham and the former England captain.

Player to watch…
Jamie Vardy: Ten goals in ten consecutive games. Can he now complete the archetypal rags to riches tale, and break Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record against his former team?

Past three meetings…
Manchester United 3 (Van Persie, Falcao, Morgan og) Leicester 1 (Wasilewski), Premier League, January 2015
Leicester 5 (Ulloa 2, Nugent, Cambiasso, Vardy) Manchester United 3 (Van Persie, Di María, Herrera), Premier League, September 2014
Manchester United 1 (G. Neville) Leicester 0, Premier League, April 2004

Kick-off Time: 5.30pm

NORWICH V ARSENAL

It’s a big game for…
Alex Neil: The Norwich City boss will know how tough a test this will be, but he’ll be hoping to get a result as they are only three points clear of the relegation zone. He’ll be boosted by the fact Arsenal lost to West Brom last week, so will know his team are capable of getting a result.

Best stat…
2: Arsenal have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight matches against Norwich. Expect it to be another tough day for Alex Neil’s side when they meet on Sunday.

Remember when…
Jack Wilshere rounded off a superb passing movement with a calm finish at the Emirates back in 2013?

Player to watch…
Mesut Özil: The German playmaker has been impressive form, with seven assists and two goals in his last eight games in all competitions. Expect to see him add to that when a Norwich side in poor form head to the capital.

Past three meetings…
Norwich City 0 Arsenal 2 (Ramsey, Jenkinson) - Premier League, May 2014
Arsenal 4 (Wilshere, Ozil 2, Ramsey) Norwich City 1 (Howson) - Premier League, October 2013
Arsenal 3 (Arteta, Giroud, Podolski) Norwich City 1 (Turner) - Premier League, April 2013

Norwich City: LLLLWL
Arsenal: LWLDLW

Kick-off: 4.15pm

TOTTENHAM V CHELSEA

It’s a big game for…
Jose Mourinho: Every game at the moment is a big game for Mourinho. Chelsea have had a poor start to the season so far and they go into the game on the back of four defeats in six in the league. It’s probably not the best time to play against this in-form Tottenham side. They will take confidence from their last two results though, a 4-0 win at Maccabi Tel Aviv and 1-0 win albeit uninspiring against Norwich City.

Best stat…
12: Tottenham haven’t lost in the Premier League for 12 matches. An under pressure Jose Mourinho faces a tough challenge when they head to White Hart Lane.

Remember when…
Tottenham came out on top in an eight goal thriller at White Hart Lane last season?

Player to watch…
Harry Kane:  The England forward has the best goals per game ratio (0.86) in London derbies. Kane has 12 goals in 14 games in London and will be looking to continue to improve that when they face Chelsea on Sunday.

Past three meetings…
Capital One Cup final, March 2015 - Chelsea 2 (Terry, Walker OG) Tottenham Hotspur 0
Premier League, January 2015 -  Tottenham Hotspur 5 (Kane 2, Rose, Townsend, Chadli) Chelsea 3 (Costa, Hazard, Terry)
Premier League, December 2014 - Chelsea 3 (Hazard, Drogba, Remy) Tottenham Hotspur 0

Form guide…
Tottenham Hotspur: WWWDW(QARABAG RESULT)
Chelsea: LLWLWW

Kick off: 12pm

MAN CITY V S'HAMPTON

It’s a big game for…
Shane Long: Ronald Koeman will be hoping for a big performance from the Irishman as he is set to lead the line for Southampton with Graziano Pelle suspended. Long will need to link up well with  Sadio Mané and Dušan Tadić if they are to come away with a result.

Weird/Best stat…
5: Manchester City have won the last five meetings at the Etihad and with Southampton missing their target man Graziano Pelle, it will be difficult for them to stop that becoming six. It’s not all bad for Southampton though, they’ve only lost twice in their previous 12 games in all competitions so will be going to Manchester in confident mood.

Remember when…
Gareth Barry and Joe Hart gifted Southampton the three points back in 2013? Southampton went on to win 3-1.

Player to watch…
Raheem Sterling: Critics of Sterling have suggested he needs to add more goals to his game, so he’ll be keen to add his four goals so far this campaign. He hasn’t scored in the league since his hat-trick against Bournemouth and he’ll have to be on top form if he is to get past a tight Southampton defence.

Past three meetings…
Manchester City 2 (Lampard, Agüero) Southampton 0 - Premier League, May 2015
Southampton 0 Manchester City 3 (Touré, Lampard, Clichy) - Premier League, November 2014
Manchester City 4 (Touré, Nasri, Dzeko, Jovetic) Southampton 1 ( Lambert) - Premier League, April 2014

Form guide…

Southampton: DDWWWL
