DREAM TEAM ON A REDEMPTION MISSION AGAINST DENMARK - SIASIA

In an attempt to bounce back from the opening day defeat by the hosts, coach Samson Siasia has promised to make changes when Nigeria face Denmark in the Suwon International Youth Tournament on Saturday (today).

Dream Team VI suffered a 1-0 defeat to hosts South Korea in their opening game courtesy of Choi Kyubaek’s late minute strike at the Suwon World Cup Stadium. And Siasia who claimed he is not desperate to win the championship has hinted that several alterations would be made against Denmark.

"As part of our plan to give every player equal opportunity to stake a claim for a shirt going to the Rio Olympic Games, we will be giving all the players we brought to Korea a chance to play and be assessed on their own merit, so that none of them will complain of not getting enough time. In our game against Denmark on Saturday, we will definitely make changes in our starting eleven,” he told NFF website.

"This is one opportunity that we can't let slip off our fingers as the NFF has given us a platform to play against three top teams going to the Olympics, so we must take full advantage of it and hopefully we will get the best legs to represent us in Rio."

"We are not saying we are here to win the tournament as a matter of do or die, but we cannot afford to lose all our games as it will affect our morale going to Rio, so we must take our game a step higher than what we did against Korea.”

The game against the Europeans is scheduled to hold on Saturday at the Goyang Sports Complex.
