MORE ON PRE OLYMPICS PROGRAMME

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that the U23 national team will have training camps in England and United States of America ahead of the Rio Olympics in August. This shows that the Dream team will have more than the Suwon tournament to as preparation for the quadrennial tournament coming up in August.

The Dream Team VI will begin their final preparations as they play their opening match today against South Korea in that country as the Suwon tournament kicks off. The development is a boost for the country's prospect in Rio as the team had missed the Toulon Invitational tournament in France due to the NFF's lack of funds.

The NFF said coach Samson Siasia's men will upon the conclusion of their Korea  campaign move to Manchester, England and Atlanta in the United States of America. They will move to Atlanta before jetting out to Brazil for the Olympics.

NFF latest statement confirms Siasia's earlier statement about his team’s programmes for the 2016 Olympic Men’s Football Tournament.
“We will go to South Korea for the Four Nation tournament after that we will come back to the country and go to South Africa, then to England and also to the United States of America from there we’ll move to the Olympics venue in Brazil,” Siasia earlier said.
“We will camp in England and America. We will play three or four matches in America before we go to the Olympics,” Siasia disclosed.
For Siasia's men, it will be great inspiration returning to Atlanta, USA where Nigeria won the Olympics gold men's event in 1996 to become the first African country to record the feat.

Nigeria, South Africa and Algeria are the three African representatives to the men's football event of the Olympics. The Dream Team VI will feature in Group B of the men's tournament against Sweden, Colombia and Japan.
